<p>A novel process for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens, in which excellent machining precision can be attained through high-precision alignment of the circumferential-direction positions and axial positions of anterior surface shaping mold and posterior surface shaping mold with the use of simple means; and an ophthalmic lens mold forming apparatus of novel structure suitable for use in the above manufacturing process. There is provided an apparatus comprising first and second jigs (12,14) for supporting of anterior and posterior surface shaping molds (16,18), the first and second jigs consisting of a nonmagnetic material; displacement means (36) capable of displacing the jig (12), the jig supported by receiver member (20) consisting of a nonmagnetic material, in all directions and direction of rotation on a plane approximately perpendicular to the direction of mold matching for the receiver member (20); magnet (54) fitted to the jig (12); magnet (58) fitted to at least either the other jig (14) or the receiver member (20); and circumferential-direction positioning means (36,54,58) capable of positioning the first and second jigs (12,14) in the circumferential direction by magnetic attractive force induced by a combination of the magnets (54,58).</p> |
