Natural or synthetic sponge rubber laminates are prepared by calendering a mixture which forms a sponge rubber during the calendering, pressing netting made of twisted paper strips into the mixture during the calendering, placing the formed sheet on a perforated carrier with the net-carrying face opposite the carrier, and heating and vulcanizing the sheet. The netting may be meshed woven, knitted or netted. The carrier may be steel wire netting. |
