<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection device which suppresses heat generation of a polarizing plate, is compact, is excellent in reliability, and also is excellent in the availabilityof light rays. <P>SOLUTION: The projection device comprises: a light source 2; a light source mirror 3 which reflects light from the light source 2 and emits the light as substantially parallel emission light H2; a liquid crystal panel 6 which modulates the emission light H2 from the light source mirror 3; and a projection lens 9 which magnifies and projects the light modulated by the liquid crystal panel 6 on a screen 10, wherein a first reflection type polarizing plate 4 and a first absorption type polarizing plate 5 are arranged between the light source 2 and the liquid crystal panel 6, a second reflection type polarizing plate 7 and a second absorption type polarizing plate 8 are arranged between the liquid crystal panel 6 and the projection lens 9, and diffusion reflection plates 11, 12 which return reflection light from the first and second reflection type polarizing plates 4, 7 to the light source mirror 3 as recycle lights R1, R2 are arranged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
