GROUND OBJECT EXTRACTION METHOD, IMAGE RECOGNITION METHOD USING IT AND GROUND OBJECT DATABASE PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground object extraction method or the like which allows suppression of erroneous recognition and efficient image recognition processing, and also allows efficient production of a ground object database used for the image recognition processing, by properly extracting a ground object suitable for use for the image recognition processing. SOLUTION: This ground object extraction method has: a step (#14) of grouping a group of the ground objects wherein an interval between the mutual ground objects becomes a prescribed grouping interval or below about the plurality of ground objects each wherein ground object information including at least information of a ground object kind and a position is stored in a prescribed ground object information storage means to form a ground object group; a step (#15) of excluding the ground object not suitable for use for the image recognition processing of the ground object to image information from the group of the ground objects inside the ground object group; and a step (#18) of extracting a part or all of one or more ground objects inside the ground object group left as the result of the exclusion step as target ground objects suitable to use for the image recognition processing.
