<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transmitting an audio signal, improved in a compression rate by predictive coding. <P>SOLUTION: An addition circuit 1a computes sum signals (L+R) of stereophonic two channel signals L and R and a subtracting circuit 1b computes difference signals (L-R). Difference computing circuits 11D1 and 11D2 compute differences▵(L+R) and▵(L-R) between current and previous sum signals. Predictive coding circuits (15D1, 15D2, 16D1, 16D2) compute a plurality of predictive values of the differences▵(L+R) and▵(L-R), compute each predictive residual of the plurality of predictive values and the differences▵(L+R) and▵(L-R) and selects a minimum predictive residual, then transmit the predictive encoded data thereof through a communication line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
