<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and projector, suitably used for a high-luminance projector and extending the life. <P>SOLUTION: This light source device 110 includes: three light source lamps 1A-1C disposed in a first position P1 and a second position P2 for turning on the light source lamps when the light source is driven and a third position P3 for turning off the light source lamp when the light source is driven, respectively; a rotary holding board 70; a light synthesizing optical system 90; and a rotary driving part 700 having a function of periodically rotating the rotary holding board 70 to move the light source lamp disposed in at least one of the first position P1 and the second position P2 to the third position P3 and move the light source lamp disposed in the third position P3 to at least one of the first position P1 and the second position P2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
