PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve excellent encoding characteristics about all terminal devices in a multiplex transmission method and device that multiplex data to a plurality of terminal devices in order to transmit the data. SOLUTION: The multiplex transmission method is used to multiplex data to a plurality of terminal devices and transmit the data from a transmitter. The transmitter forms virtual continuous data by collecting data addressed to the plurality of terminal devices, encodes the continuous data in units of data blocks each having a proper length, and multiplexes code data corresponding to each data block and positional information showing a position of data, addressed to each terminal device, in the continuous data by using a proper modulation method for transmission. Each terminal device receives a modulated signal in which code data corresponding to a data block including at least the positional information and data addressed to its own terminal are multiplexed, restores the data block by decoding the code data, obtained by demodulating the received signal by a proper demodulation method, according to a proper encoding method, and extracts the data addressed to its own terminal from the restored data block on the basis of the positional information.
