PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the precise forming of an optical element. SOLUTION: The mold for forming the optical element is equipped with a first mold holder (20) that holds a first mold body (10), a second mold body (30) that faces the first mold body (10) across a material to be formed (50) and a second mold holder (40) that holds the second mold body (30). A pressing plane 21 that fits into the second mold holder (40) and presses the material to be formed (50) is established on the first mold holder (20), and the first mold body (10) moves integrally with the first mold holder (20).
