PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic-inorganic hybrid light emitting element which has a high luminous efficiency and a long life. SOLUTION: A light emitting elements 11 has a positive electrode 2, and a negative electrode 9, wherein at least a hole transport layer 3, a recombination layer 4, a light emitting layer 6 and an electron transport layer 7 are included in this order between the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 9. The light emitting layer 6 is comprised of semiconductor nanoparticles 5, and it emits light by the energy transfer of exciton energy generated at the recombination layer 4 to the semiconductor nanoparticles 5.
