PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting device which counts easily and surely a predetermined number of articles such as tablets to be filled into a bottle, etc. using a relatively simple mechanism. SOLUTION: In filling a predetermined number of tablets t in a bottle using this small article counting device, the tablets transferred in a line are counted by a counting means 1, a count passage is switched by the passage switching body 11 of a passage switching means 2 for each predetermined number of tablets, the tablets t are transferred to the two storage parts 41a, 41b of a temporary storage chute 4 alternately, and the tablets are filled into a bottle from the parts 41a, 41b alternately.
