The engine (1) has a carrier structure (43) to support collecting and turning units (3, 5). The structure has arms (45, 47) extending towards the front of the engine on a length corresponding to that of a crossed belt (23). The arms are integrated at front ends and rear ends (53, 55) and placed at the proximity with respect to each other from a side of the belt by crossing at a crossing point identical to that of the belt such that a belt's active blade is placed between the arms. A continuous stem lap (11) forming a windrow is turned around the arms when the arms define a semi-spiral.
