<p>A power control device with a latch protection function and a controlling method thereof are provided to operate the power control device with the minimum standby power by using a latch relay for controlling a load. A main sensor unit(100) outputs a load driving signal for a reference time that is the predetermined load driving time if the infrared ray is sensed when an illumination value is below a predetermined illumination value. A power control unit(200) includes a triac driven by receiving the output signal from the main sensor unit for driving the load and a latch relay which is on and off by the driving of the triac. A sensor unit(110) is composed of a plurality of sensors detecting the existence of the fluid irradiating an infrared ray. A sensor input unit(120) converts an analog signal outputted from the sensor unit into a TTL level signal that is a digital logic level signal. An illuminance input unit(130) sets the indoor illuminance previously, and outputs the signal if the indoor illumination value is the predetermined set illuminance range value or less. A time and switch input unit(140) sets up the predetermined load driving time.</p> |
