PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil sheet covering the circumference of a plant usable in a simple way to use, applicable to any flower pot or the like having various sizes with one sheet thereof, and having bactericidal and/or insect-proof effect. SOLUTION: The soil sheet covering the circumference of a plant comprises a tatami mat which turns to compost when becoming decayed, a backing bonded to one surface of the tatami mat so that the fibers of the tatami mat do not loosened. The soil sheet is provided with a through-hole formed at the center part of such a tatami mat, and a guide means made by cutting the sheet toward the circumference of the tatami mat from the through-hole to allow the stalk or the trunk of the plant to move to the through-hole from the cut part. The soil sheet enables prevention of the plant from mud flap due to rainwater or from evaporation of moisture, and also the tatami mat finally becomes decayed to turn to compost so as to enable effective use of wasted tatami mat.
