A search system and so forth suitable for providing a service focusing on the locality of how to access information in a network are provided. Nodes are information processors interconnected by the network. Each of the nodes, if the user, for example, accesses a Web server, holds a search index for the accessed Web page and also holds an action history such as an accessed URL history. Furthermore, each of the nodes performs the comparison of the action history with a connectable node group to determine the neighbor node. If a search condition is inputted to a node (41), a search request is issued to neighbor nodes (43) and (47). The nodes (43) and (47) having received the search request perform a search processing and transmit the result of the search to the node (41). The node (41) having received the search result tallies the search result to display it to the user.
