PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller which is used for a copier and capable of preventing distortions or coming-off of a shaft due to thermal expansion. SOLUTION: The roller comprises an aluminum-made hollow shaft 11 and a stainless steel-made shaft member 21, having the heat resistance higher than that of the hollow shaft 11, which is provided with a groove part 214 circulating by providing a flange part, having the diameter larger than that of a hole 112 of the hollow shaft 11 and is provided with at least one recess 215 on a small-diameter part 212, at the tip of the small-diameter part 212 provided at one end of a shaft body 211. A flange part of the shaft member 21 is press-fitted in the hole 112 of an end 111 of the hollow shaft 11, which is arranged on the same axis as the shaft member 21 and rotated relatively with respect to the shaft member 21 around the axis. A part of the hollow shaft 11 is melted, the groove part 214 and the recess 215 of the shaft member 21 are filled with its molten portion 111a, and the hollow shaft 11 and the shaft member 21 are integrated with each other to manufacture the roller.
