An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the display quality by improving aperture ratio. A gate electrode and a gate line(116) are formed on a first substrate through a first mask process. An active pattern and source(122)/drain electrode(123) are formed on the first substrate through a second mask process. A data line(117) which defines the pixel region by intersecting with the gate line is formed. A first common line(108l) is formed into the materially parallel to direction about the data line. A second common line(108l') is formed to the materially parallel direction to the gate line. A first contact hole(140a) exposes a part of the drain electrode. A second contact hole(140b) exposes a part of the second common line. |
