The device (10) has a torso clamp (11), and a pectoral fin receiver (14) formed of catches (12, 13). The clamp is brought from a receiving position to a clamping position and vice versa, and an additional unit (19) fixes a fish torso. The unit has clamping straps (20, 21) arranged on opposite sides of a fish. The clamp is formed of a rear support (15) and side webs (16, 17) that stand in effective connection with each other. The straps are connected with the webs such that the straps are positively connected by the webs. The straps are formed of clamping elements made of sheet metal.
