RIDGELINE ASSORTING SYSTEM FOR MOUNTAINOUS REGION AND METHOD THEREOF

A system for classifying ridgelines of a mountainous region and a classification method thereof are provided to regard a ridgeline as the mountaintop, not the top of a mountain, thereby accurately discriminating the ridgelines by a slope unit. A method for classifying ridgelines of a mountainous region comprises the following steps of: selecting a spot where a basin system is formed by the water streaming down along slopes of the mountainous region, as the lower ends of the slopes(12); selecting the ridgeline of a slope nearest to the analyzed area as the mountaintop of the slope by using the selected result(14); and tracking the lower end firstly met in the analyzed area and the nearest mountaintop based on the height and water-flow direction of the analyzed area, and then classifying locations of each ridgeline based on the tracked result(16).
