ELECTORDE ASSEMBLY AND SECONDARY BATTERY USING THE SAME

An electrode assembly is provided to reduce costs generated by using the ceramic layer and to prevent contrast and the reduction of battery capacity. An electrode assembly of a secondary battery comprises a positive plate coated with a positive active material on a positive collector; a negative plate coated with a negative active material on a negative collector; and a separator interposed between two plates, and is formed by winding two plates and separator. The electrode assembly of a secondary battery further comprises a ceramic layer, at a location preventing the short circuit of the negative plate and positive plate, to distance more than 40% from the end of winded part positioned at the exterior of an electrode assembly, based on the total length(L1) of the positive plate or the negative plate. The ceramic layer is formed to the distance(L2) less than the maximum 90%.
