<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high charge and discharge capacity with a high safety. <P>SOLUTION: This is the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided with a non-aqueous electrolytic solution in which supporting salt is dissolved in a solvent consisting of only a diphosphoryl compound, a positive electrode, and a negative electrode. As the negative electrode, a lithium metal or lithium alloy is preferable, and as the lithium alloy, an alloy of a metal selected from a group of Al, In, Si, Sn, and Zn and lithium is preferable.
