PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic cargo handling vehicle capable of adjusting the stopping position of an object to be handled with an inexpensive constitution, and its control method. SOLUTION: A CPU drives a conveying motor first. Next, the CPU measures a passing time t of the object to be handled based on a detection signal imparted from a photoelectronic sensor. Then, the CPU calculates the length X of the object to be handled by a product of the passing time t and a conveying speed V. Next, the CPU calculates the stopping time T by (Y-X)/2V. Meanwhile, Y is a body part length of a vehicle body part. The stopping time T is the time from when the one end part of the object to be handled passes the photoelectronic sensor until stopping a plurality of rollers.
