PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a device, capable of performing influence or transfer of a memory content of a memory belonging to a control device in different operating states of the control device, and provide a corresponding method.

SOLUTION: An adaptation unit (6) for performing selective configuration in a data connection part between a control device (2) and at least one influence device (4) for influencing the control device (2) includes a memory (32). The memory (32) stores at least a part of data transferred between the influence device (4) and the control device (2) in such a manner that the data is read and/or written by a microcontroller of the switched-on control device (2).
