AXILLARY AND/OR THORACIC COMPRESSION SYSTEM

The invention relates to an orthetic device which reduces the volume of seroma formation following surgery involving a partial, simple or radical mastectomy and an axillary lymphadenectomy as a result of a benign or neoplastic pathology. The invention comprises a system of bands which form a harness coupled to a volume that can be fitted to the axillary and/or thoracic surgical beds in order to secure the axilla and/or the thoracic wall. The device compresses the postsurgical virtual space between the skin and the deep bed of the axillary lymphadenectomy and/or mastectomy. The device prevents the postoperative accumulation of body fluids in the short and medium term after surgical pathologies such as: breast cancer, melanoma of the trunk and upper extremities, lymphomas that require diagnostic surgery, and other pathologies that require surgery on axillary ganglia and/or the thoracic wall. The alternatives to the above axillary compression system are postoperative compression bandages and surgical or suction drainage.
