A web folding device has a folding part (2) for folding a web (W) double by making the web (W) in contact with a contact member (4) so that laterally opposite side edges (Wa, Wb) of the web (W) have a predetermined positional relationship between each other, a pair of conveyance means (10A, 10B) disposed along laterally opposite sides of the web (W) and conveying the web (W) in the longitudinal direction (X), multiple holding means (20) provided on each of the conveyance means (10A, 10B) and movable in the traverse direction (D) of the web (W), movement means (30) for moving, on the upstream side of the contact member (4), the holding means (20) in the traverse direction (D) in order to correct a positional relationship between the web (W) and the contact member (4), detection means (3) for outputting information on the position of the web (W) relative to the traverse direction (D), and control means (200) for controlling the movement means (3) based on the information on the position.
