<p>The invention relates to an anchoring element for permanent anchorage of extra oral prostheses, such as bone anchored hearing aid devices or other types of craniofacial prostheses such as bone anchored ear or orbital prostheses in the skull bone of a patient, and also finger prostheses or the like. The anchoring element comprises a screw-shaped central part (1) to be inserted into the skull bone and a flange (5) which functions as a stop against the bo- ne surface when the anchoring element is installed into the skull bone. The anchoring element is characterised by a screw-shaped, central part (1) which is connected with a tubular, peripheral part (10) via said flange (5) so that the tubular part together with the central part (1) is arranged to cut down into the bone tissue when the anchoring element is installed into the skull bone. In this way the anchoring element is forming a flat disc-shaped saw-toothed geometry in which the extension of the comparatively thin skull bone layer is more efficiently used for the an- chorage compared to traditional screw fixtures.</p> |
