PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alcohol detection device which detects an alcohol component contained in the expiration of a driver and saves a space arranged in a cabin and detects alcohol with high precision. SOLUTION: The alcohol detection device equipped with a rod 10 having an alcohol sensor 17, a controller 8 for controlling the operation of the alcohol detection device, and a speaker 9 for outputting voice during alarming is incorporated in an overhead console 1 installed at the ceiling part of the cabin, so that the space for installing the alcohol detection device in the cabin is saved. When checking the alcohol, the reliable checking of the alcohol near the mouth of the driver is carried out by lowering the rod 10 downward from the ceiling side of the cabin.
