<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate which is excellent in heat resistance and has a plurality of functions of light collection and light diffusion, and provide its manufacturing method, and a backlight for a liquid crystal display which is excellent in visual quality. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide plate is composed of a complex containing transparent resin and glass fiber. Preferably, the light guide plate has a structure in which the transparent resin has a compound made of cyclic aliphatic skeleton, and the glass fiber is made of glass cloth, and further an aggregate of minute projection structures are united through an air layer.
