PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect frame data by scanning along a trajectory of a sectional view while focusing on a standard sectional view and easily acquire an panoramic image of a tooth row changing its position or a part of the tooth row selected from the same tooth row, from the frame data. SOLUTION: This panoramic imaging apparatus moves a pair of an X-ray source and a detector around an object while focusing to a prescribed standard sectional view. During the movement, this apparatus stores frame data of digital quantity output by the detector (a step S44). Further, this apparatus generates the panoramic image of the optional and intended sectional view on an actual space from the stored frame data based on correspondence information of a position on the actual space and a gain defined as a gradient of a curve on coordinates, which is determined by a plurality of stored frame data, and a mapping position when mapping the frame data on a memory space and reconstructing the panoramic image.
