A method and network node for transporting IP packets in an IP network. The IP packets are received at a first network node, which separates the packets into a plurality of streams. The packets of each stream share an IP header in common, which denotes a second network node as a destination. The first and second nodes negotiate a connection on which packet multiplexing is available. The first node then merges packets from separate streams and sends a merged packet to the second node. |
