LENS FOCUS COMPENSATOR AND METHOD THEREOF

A lens focus corrector and a lens focus correcting method are provided to correct a focus of a camera lens accurately by performing only fast fourier conversion operation without an image sensor for correcting a focus of an additional camera lens, thereby reducing the size of the camera and the cost. An image processor(12) comprises a CCD(Charge Coupled Device) or a CMOS(Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) image sensor. In this case, the CCD or the CMOS image sensor can convert light reflected through a lens(L) into an analog signal which is electrical. A lens focus corrector(14) extracts the first pixel data comprising the sample line of the first input image. The extracted first pixel data is fast Fourier-transformed by the lens focus corrector. The lens focus corrector stores the result after the first fast Fourier conversion as a focus value. The lens focus corrector can correct or move the location of the camera lens(L) based on the stored focus value.
