<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental caries-suppressing composition and a dental caries-suppressing food, each effectively suppressing production of glucan, because dental caries is directly caused by formation of dental plaque by glucan and acid fermentation from saccharide by bacterium. <P>SOLUTION: The dental caries-suppressing composition comprises an extract of mulberry leaf which suppresses glucan production from sucrose by GTase and inhibits production of insoluble glucan. The dental caries-suppressing food is obtained by combinedly using the composition with sucrose or combining the composition with a sucrose food.
