SOUND DEADENING STRUCTURE FOR RAILROAD RAIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound deadening structure for a railroad rail which is easy to be manufactured with satisfactory fire resistance and flame resistance.

SOLUTION: A sound insulating member 16 having glass cloth 20 laminated on the outer surface of a sound insulating sheet 12 formed of a rubber material containing magnetized magnetic powder is magnetically attached to the body side surface and the bottom upper surface of a railroad rail 10 formed of a steel product with the glass cloth 20 outside, and disposed along the longitudinal direction of the rail. A sound absorbing body including massy glass wool entirely enclosed by glass cloth may be disposed opposite to the bottom lower surface of the railroad rail and intermittently disposed along the longitudinal direction of the rail. Since the sound insulating sheet 12 is protected by the glass cloth 14, the fire resistance and flame resistance of the sound insulating member 16 can be enhanced.
