<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a promoter for forming and metabolizing testosterone, increasing the content of testosterone in the testis and blood, and also promoting the gene expression of 5α-reductase as an enzyme metabolizing testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. <P>SOLUTION: The promoter comprises phenylethanoid glycoside(s) as active ingredient, wherein the phenylethanoid glycoside(s) comprises preferably at least one of echinacoside and acteoside, more preferably both of them.
