<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which efficiently updates firmware of a plurality of image forming apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: A multi-functioned machine (image forming apparatus) which communicates with other multi-functioned machines by connecting to a network is provided with: a ROM for storing firmware; an updating target machine registration part for registering a plurality of communication destinations; a display screen for displaying various kinds of information. The multi-functioned machine communicates with respective multi-functioned machines registered in the updating target machine registration part, acquires information on firmware of the communication destination multi-functioned machines (S104), and displays a list of the acquired firmware information on the display screen (S105). When an update target multi-functioned machine whose firmware is updated, is selected from the list, the multi-functioned machine sends to the selected update target multi-functioned machine, update data for updating the firmware to the same firmware as its own firmware (S108). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
