The invention relates to a pricking system comprising a carrier strip (2) carrying a plurality of lancets (3), an appliance housing (9) containing a transport device (6) for successively bringing the lancets (3) into a positi on of use, by moving the carrier strip (2) in a transport direction, a prick ing drive (7) for accelerating the pricking movement of a lancet (3) in the position of use, a housing opening (8) for positioning a body part into whic h a lancet has penetrated with a pricking movement, and an actuating device (11) for driving the transport device (6). According to the invention, the p ricking system (1) has a detachable lock (17, 18, 22) which blocks further t ransport of the carrier strip (2) as soon as a lancet (3) has reached the po sition of use. The invention also relates to a lancet carrier strip (2) for such a pricking system.
