PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trash box which can be improved in a feeling of quality by preventing the rattling of a lid by a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: The lid 4 for opening and closing an opening 33 of a trash box body 3 is mounted around a turning shaft 36 of an opening frame 32 so as to be turnable. A cam face 43a is formed on the peripheral face of a lid side hinge 43 fitted to the turning shaft 36. A plate spring 37 is integrally formed at a stepped flat portion 34 opposed to the turning shaft 36. When the lid 4 is turned to the opening side by an opening spring 6, the cam face 43a pushes down the plate spring 37 in contact with the plate spring 37 until reaching a fully opening position from a predetermined turning angle. A friction force operating between the cam face 43a and the plate spring 37 reduces the turning speed of the lid 4 to prevent the rattling of the lid 4 when reaching the fully opening position.
