CIRCUIT AND METHOD FOR REDUCING ELECTRICAL ENERGY STORED IN A LEAD INDUCTANCE FOR FAST EXTINCTION OF PLASMA ARCS

A circuit, a power supply and a method for reducing electrical energy stored in lead inductance for fast extinction of plasma arcs are provided to generate reduction of lead inductance energy delivered to subordinate without binding about the relative position of the power supply unit and the load provided with the electricity. The circuit is comprised of the first electrical nonlinear device(D2) arranged in parallel with the switch(SS), an energy storage arranged in parallel with the switching means and being serially arranged in the first electrical nonlinear device, and a pre-charge circuit(7) connected to the energy storage in order to store the energy at the energy storage to the predetermined energy level.
