The invention relates to a system for connecting flat structural segments (1), whereby one of the flanges (2) provided on each face of the segment is connected to the corresponding flange on the adjacent segment using an elastic band (7) that surrounds connected flanges. The flanges are provided with: rounded corners (3); a groove (4) which is used to connect to a segment that is narrower and shorter than the face of same, serving as a hinge that prevents the deformation of the segment and as a housing for the elastic band; and a larger area (5) with a convex side that is proportional to the geometric body. The invention also includes a central hole in the groove, through which the elastic band extends in order to reinforce the connection between the segments. In this way, the invention provides a temporary elastic connection that can be used to produce balls, geodesic structures, etc.
