INTERFACE CONVERTER FOR SC FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS

An interface converter (20) is provided for mechanically and optically coupling a fiber optic connector (422) with an adapter port. In a preferred embodiment, the interface converter attaches to an SC fiber optic connector and together form a converted fiber optic connector compatible with the adapter port. In certain embodiments, a retractable release sleeve (434) may be removed from the SC fiber optic connector prior to attaching the interface converter. In certain embodiments, the interface converter may be inserted into the adapter port prior to being attached to the SC fiber optic connector.
