PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive ultrasonic flow meter capable of high-precision measurement of a flow rate and freely changing the installation location of a transmitting material without any adhesives. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic flow meter is equipped with two ultrasonic transmitter-receivers 10 and 16. The ultrasonic transmitter-receivers 10 and 16 comprise cylindrical transmitting materials 1 and 12 provided to embrace the measuring tube 6 through which a measured fluid flows and tightly fastened to the outer surface of the tube 6 and ultrasonic transducers 2 and 13 provided to embrace the measuring tube 6 at a distance from the outer surface of the measuring tube 6. The transmitting material 1 is made of a rubber material and has end faces 8a and 8b in the longitudinal direction extending vertically to the direction of the axis line of the measuring tube. The end face 7 of the ultrasonic transducer 2 in the direction of axis line is fixed to the end face 8b of the transmitting material 1 in the direction of axis line. A voltage is applied between the end faces 8a and 8b of the ultrasonic transducer 2 in the direction of axis line to expand and shrink the ultrasonic transducer 2 in the direction of axis line.
