PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure synchronicity between accumulation times of photosensitive pixels, to improve a summation function of signal charges, and achieve these functions by using a low-noise, small circuit area. SOLUTION: A solid imaging device has a semiconductor substrate, photosensitive pixels to convert incident light on the semiconductor substrate to signal charges, and charge detection sections to convert the converted signal charges to output signals. Between the photosensitive pixels and the charge detection sections, charge transfer sections are provided which temporarily accumulate the signal charges and transfer the accumulated signal charges to the charge detection sections by impressing pulses sequentially.
