RIPCORD OF OPTIC CABLES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

Disclosed are a ripcord for optic cable and a method of manufacturing the same. The ripcord of the present invention comprises a folded and twisted yarn formed by folding and twisting together (i) wholly aromatic polyamide filaments and (ii) at least one filament selected from a group consisting of polyester filaments, polyamide filaments, polyvinylalcohol filaments, rayon filaments, polyolefin filaments and polybenzonite filaments, in a relative ratio of 50 to 99 : 1 to 50 in terms of percentage by weight. The ripcord for optic cable of the present invention can exhibit excellent mechanical properties due to the wholly aromatic polyamide filaments, as well as additional properties such as dyeing properties and bulkiness due to the functional industrial filaments.
