摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent boiling of coolant in an exhaust heat recovery apparatus, in a cooling device for an internal combustion engine provided with the exhaust heat recovery apparatus. SOLUTION: ECU 500 in a cooling device for an internal combustion engine calculates cooling water flow rate (boiling prevention flow rate) required for preventing boiling phenomenon of cooling water in an exhaust heat recovery apparatus and cooling water flow rate required for cooling and operating each apparatus such as an engine 100 and a heater 170 according to an operation condition of the engine 100, and sets the maximum value out of the calculated cooling water flow rate as target flow rate of an electric pump 200. The ECU 500 determines whether the electric pump 200 is continuously operated in order to secure boiling prevention flow rate after stop of the engine 100 according to a condition at a time of engine stop.
