<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform data read operation by a reflected wave transmission system by securing a sufficiently wide communicable area on a read surface where host equipment incorporating a reflector is placed. <P>SOLUTION: A reflected wave reader has a plurality of plane antennas arranged on the read surface where the host equipment mounted with the reflector is placed and is equipped with a distributor/combiner distributing and combining signals to and from the respective plane antennas and an antenna switch operative to switch so that the plurality of plane antennas are used at the same time or individually. Then the reception quality of a modulated reflected wave signal from a reflector side is measured and the antenna switch is controlled according to the measurement result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
