PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular plug having a guide plate sharable when a modular plug of a cable corresponding to a different arrangement sequence of cores is manufactured while preventing a wrong arrangement of the cores. SOLUTION: This modular plug is provided with the guide plate 15 with a plurality of guide holes 16 formed thereat, a housing having a core insertion part positioning twisted pair wires aligned by the guide plate 15 by fitting the guide plate 15 thereto on the basis of the cores forming respective twisted pairs, and terminals connected to the respective cores positioned in the core insertion part, wherein formation positions of the plurality of guide holes 16 of the guide plate 15 and the shape of a side surface with the guide holes 16 formed thereon are set to form point symmetry, and indexes 20 and 21 showing the arrangement sequence of the different cores are formed on a pair of side surfaces along the arrangement direction of the guide holes 16. The guide plate 15 may be formed so that a wire insertion direction into the guide holes 16 can be reversed, and the plurality of guide holes are made line-symmetric with respect to an axis in the longitudinal direction.
