A memory control unit and their memory control method is provided to make only the memory module required for processing data activate by generating clock enable signal to a plurality of memory modules respectively. In a plurality of(310,340) memory modules of the memory control unit(100), a memory controller(200) generates a clock enable signal to a plurality of memory modules respectively and supplies the clock enable signal to each memory module to control the operation of each memory module. In a memory controller, a sync clock generating unit(210) generates the synchronous clock. A command generating unit(220) generates the control command according to the sync clock and transmits to each memory module. An enable signal generation unit(240) determines the number of memory module to be activated according to the capacity of data requested from the CPUs(10), supplies an enable signal of the high level, and clock enable signal of the low level to the rest memory module.
