The regulator (10) has a temperature sensor (12) for delivering electrical signals. An electronic component (14) and a CPU (16) are provided for evaluating the electrical signals of the temperature sensor. An active unit i.e. Peltier element (22), cools the electronic component and the CPU. Heat conducting units (20) connected with each other are thermally connected with the active unit for cooling the component and the CPU. The CPU receives the signals of the sensor and activates the active unit when a difference of temperatures measured by the sensor exceeds a preset threshold value.
