<p>Non-agricultural grounds, in particular storage sites for chemical products, are rendered impermeable to liquids by incorporating and homogeneously distributing a binder in the soil down to a depth of at least about 2.5 cm, said binder being selected from the group consisting of organic and inorganic, natural and synthetic binders, and being used in a proportion ranging from about 0.75 to about 15% by weight, calculated on the soil treated and after having moistened the soil, compacting the soil thus treated in still moist condition to form a homogeneous, compact mass, and coating the surface of the thus compacted upper layer of the soil with a thin layer, to be formed in situ, of a water-insoluble polymer selected from the group consisting of polyurethanes, polyesters, polyepoxy resins and polyvinyl compounds.</p> |
