A method or process (40) for providing an anti-myopia lens or treatment f or a patient's eye with progressive myopia, which involves (in one form) gen erating biometric data (42) relating to the central and peripheral refractiv e errors of the eye, optionally together with data relating to the patient's visual or lifestyle needs (44) and the patient's predisposition to progress ive myopia (46). This data is input to a processor or algorithm (48) that ge nerates a basic lens design (51 ), a customised design (53) or a program (55 ) for reshaping the cornea of the eye. The selected modality (52, 54 or 56) is applied to the patient (60) and its suitability is assessed (62, 50) with the result of the assessment feedback to the algorithm (48) to generate a r efined output design (52, 54 or 56), which is applied to the patient. The pr ocess is repeated at intervals to check continued myopia progression and adj ust the design of the selected modality after further measurement.
