PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interior trim base material for automobile reduced in the weight. SOLUTION: The interior trim base material for automobile is structured of two sheet parts 11 and 11 provided in parallel with each other and a plurality of connecting parts 15 provided to connect between two sheet parts 11 and 11 and respectively formed into a vertical wall shape so as to have a predetermined rigidity to hold the two sheet parts 11 and 11 in parallel with each other. These parts 11 and 15 are integrally formed by using a predetermined thermoplastic synthetic resin material to form a layer member 1 as a base, and two layer members 1 are prepared, and joined with each other by overlapping them so that longitudinal axes of vertical wall-shape coupling parts 15 and 15 forming the layer members 1 and 1 cross each other at a predetermined angle of crossing.
